Flowering apple bonsai tree in enameled pot - age 7-8 years

Presentation

The flowering crabapple (Malus floribunda) is a deciduous tree that in spring bears clusters of flowers, pink in bud and white once the corolla opens. This specimen is 7-8 years old, stands about 30 cm tall and shows a gently sinuous trunk. Ideal for anyone looking for a living wedding favour for weddings, communions or ceremonies, or a corporate gift with real presence.

How to care for it

Keep it outdoors for most of the year: the flowering crabapple needs direct light to set its buds and bloom in spring. Keep the soil moist but never waterlogged, watering daily during the hot months and far less often in winter, when it is best to shield the pot from hard frosts with horticultural fleece.

Frequently asked questions

Will I receive exactly the plant in the photograph?

No. As this is a wedding favour produced in series, the photo shows a representative specimen of the same variety. Every piece is the same species, with the same pot size and comparable height, but the shape of the branches and trunk varies from plant to plant.

Is the pot included?

Yes. The bonsai arrives already planted in the green glazed ceramic rectangular pot measuring 16 x 12 x h 5.5 cm, which is included. The combined weight of plant, pot and soil is around 2 kg.

Can I keep it indoors or in the office?

It can stay indoors for short spells, for instance during the days of the ceremony or on a well-lit desk. The flowering crabapple remains an outdoor species, however: to keep it flowering each year it must be moved back outside, onto a bright balcony or terrace.
