How to care for it

It should be kept outdoors all year round: it is a deciduous species that loses its leaves in winter and needs cold to flower between late February and March. Water when the surface of the substrate begins to dry out, more frequently from May to August, avoiding both standing water in the drip tray and the complete drying out of the root ball.

Q: Will I receive exactly the plant in the photograph?

A: No. As this is a wedding favour produced in series, the photo shows a representative specimen of the same variety. Every piece is the same species, with the same 14x14x h13 cm white square pot and very similar dimensions, around 20 cm in height, but the ramification varies from plant to plant.

Q: Can I keep it indoors during the reception?

A: Yes, for the duration of the ceremony there is no problem: it can stay on a table or favour display for a few hours. After the event, however, it must be moved back outdoors, onto a balcony, terrace or garden, because the Japanese cherry cannot tolerate prolonged periods indoors.
