Kumquat bonsai in a white square pot

Overview

The Kumquat (Fortunella obovata) is a small evergreen citrus that bears oval orange fruits, clearly visible against its compact canopy. Here it is trained as a bonsai with a single trunk and rounded canopy, in a white square ceramic pot with gently curved rims. Ideal for anyone looking for a living wedding favour for weddings, christenings, first communions and corporate events.

How to care for it

The Kumquat needs plenty of direct light: keep it outdoors from April to October and move it to a bright, cool spot when temperatures drop below 5-7 °C. Keep the substrate moist but never waterlogged, watering more often in summer and less in winter; while the plant is fruiting, avoid irregular watering, as this causes fruit drop.

Frequently asked questions

Will I receive the exact plant in the photo?

No. As this is a wedding favour produced in batches, the photo shows a representative specimen: you will receive a Kumquat of the same species, same style and same 15 x 15 x h. 7.5 cm white square pot, 25-30 cm tall. Habit and number of fruits vary from plant to plant.

How much room does it take up on a ceremony table?

The base measures 15 x 15 cm and the overall height, pot included, is around 30-35 cm. Its weight of about 2 kg keeps it stable even on crowded tables and on wedding favour display stands, with no risk of tipping over.

Can I order many identical ones for an event?

Yes, this wedding favour is produced in batches with identical pots and sizes for every piece, so the overall look stays consistent even in large quantities. It is often chosen for weddings, graduations and corporate gifting, with a botanical care sheet supplied with each plant.
