How to care for it

Light comes first: from April to September the Chinese elm is at its best outdoors, and in those months the root ball in a 15 x 9 cm pot dries out quickly, so it should be checked daily on hot days. Between November and March the canopy thins out because the species is semi-deciduous, a normal process that requires no action.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Will I receive exactly the plant in the photograph?

A: No. Wedding favours are produced in batches, so the photo is indicative and shows a representative specimen. You will receive a Chinese elm of the same variety and style, with a 15 x 9 cm pot and a height very close to the 20 cm stated.

Q: Is the blue drip tray included in the price?

A: Yes. The blue glazed ceramic drip tray matches the pot and is shipped together with the plant. It collects excess water after watering and lets you place the wedding favour on a laid table or a piece of furniture without leaving marks.

Q: If I order in winter, will the plant have few leaves?

A: It may. Between October-November and February-March the Chinese elm sheds part of its foliage, as it is semi-deciduous. The structure of the trunk and branching remains that of a six-year-old specimen and growth resumes with the first mild temperatures.
