Presentation

The dwarf pomegranate (Punica granatum nana) is a small-leaved variety that blooms with orange flowers between late spring and summer, as shown in the specimen photographed. Here it is grown in a white square pot with rounded edges, measuring 15x15 cm, with the plant reaching 18-22 cm in height. Ideal as a wedding favour, corporate gift or keepsake for events.

How to care for it

Keep it outdoors in a sunny spot: this is the condition that determines flowering and leaf colour. From May to September the substrate in the 7.5 cm deep pot dries out quickly, so it should be watered every day during the hottest weeks, reducing in autumn when the plant sheds its leaves and goes into dormancy.

Will I receive exactly the plant in the photo?

No. Wedding favours are produced in series, so the photo is indicative: it shows a representative specimen. You will receive a dwarf pomegranate of the same variety and style, in the same 15x15x7.5 cm white square pot and with a height between 18 and 22 cm.

Will it arrive in flower as in the picture?

It depends on the season. The dwarf pomegranate flowers roughly between May and August, with orange flowers like those visible in the photo. For autumn and winter deliveries the plant may be without flowers and with few leaves: this is the normal dormancy of a deciduous species.

Should it be kept indoors or outdoors?

Outdoors. This 18-22 cm bonsai should be placed on a balcony, terrace or windowsill in full sun. Indoors, with little light and dry air, it drops its leaves and does not flower. It can stay inside only for the hours of the ceremony or display.
