A specimen of Ficus retusa standing 60 cm tall, with a 7 cm root base and a set of aerial roots firmly fused to the trunk, a typical trait of plants grown in a hot, humid climate. The canopy is arranged on several levels, with the lower pad on the left clearly detached from the main mass. Ideal for anyone looking for a large, already formed indoor bonsai.

How to care for it

It should be kept indoors all year round in front of a bright window, with temperatures never below 12-14 °C; from June to September it can stay outdoors in a sheltered position. Water it when the top centimetre of substrate dries out: in summer this may mean every day, in winter even every four or five days. The ficus forgives the odd mistake, but not prolonged waterlogging.
