How to care for it

Phillyrea needs to stay outdoors all year round, in full sun: it is a species of the Mediterranean scrub and in the shade it loses compactness, stretching its internodes. From June to August the foliage mass and the shallow 14.5 cm pot dry out quickly, so it should be checked every day and watered until water runs out of the drainage holes; in winter a few waterings are enough, only when the soil is dry on the surface.
