How to care for it
The flowering crab apple should stay outdoors all year round, in a bright, airy spot: the March flowering and fruit set depend on the hours of sunshine it receives. In summer, with a pot only 7 cm deep, the substrate dries out quickly and daily watering is needed, even twice on the hottest days; in winter water only when the surface of the soil is dry.

Frequently asked questions
Is the plant delivered the one in the photo?
Yes, this is a one-of-a-kind specimen and the photo shows the very tree that will be shipped. As it is a living plant, the foliage may look different from the picture due to natural growth, maintenance pruning and pinching, or the normal change of season.
How much does it weigh and how much space does it take up once displayed?
The total weight, plant and pot, is 4.1 kg. The footprint is the 22.5 x 22.5 cm square pot, while the plant alone is 41 cm tall: adding the 7 cm of the pot gives a total of about 48 cm, plus the spread of the canopy.
Can it be kept indoors or must it stay outside?
It must be kept outdoors, on a balcony, terrace or in the garden. The flowering crab apple loses its leaves in winter and needs seasonal cold to flower well in spring; indoors, in the warmth and with little light, it will not flower and will weaken within a few months.
