What it is for

It collects the water draining from the holes of the 65 cm smooth Fenice cube, so floors, decking or indoor surfaces stay unmarked. The raised centre keeps the pot base lifted above the collecting surface: the roots are not left soaking in standing water, which gathers instead in the perimeter channel. How to use it

Set it on a level surface and place the cube on top, centring it on the riser. Two people, better three, if the pot is already full of compost: the resin holds up, but the weight of a wet substrate in a cube 65 cm along each side is considerable.

After every watering check the level of collected water: with such a wide surface a fair amount builds up. In summer, with frequent watering, it is best to empty the tray every two or three days, especially if the pot stands in full sun: standing water warms up and becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes and algae. In winter, outdoors, keep it empty so ice does not push against the walls.

No. The mould follows the base of the smooth Fenice cube 65 cm (SKU CUBOFENICE65), including the central riser the pot locks onto. On a square container from another line, even with the same outer size, it would not sit steadily and the rim might not match.

Can I leave water in the base to provide humidity?

A thin film in the perimeter channel raises humidity around the pot without wetting the roots, because the central riser keeps the cube base away from the water. Avoid keeping it full for days, though: prolonged standing water encourages root rot and mosquito larvae in the warm months.

Is the resin frost and sun resistant?

Yes, it is designed to stay outdoors all year round alongside the pot from the same line. Two tips: empty it before frosts, so water does not freeze in the channel, and in summer avoid dragging it when loaded over rough flooring, which scratches the surface.
