What it is used for
It is used to reduce and shape the canopy. The elongated body lets you reach deep between the branches, right to the inner twigs, keeping your hand clear of the foliage: you don't crush buds or snap nearby shoots while working. The slim, pointed blades close precisely at the right node, without fraying the bark of the cut twig.

Who it is for
This is a tool for experienced growers. Anyone already familiar with maintenance pruning will immediately appreciate its balance in the hand and the clean closing of the blades, two things you won't find on a budget shear.
In everyday practice it comes into play during tidy-up pruning of maples, elms, hornbeams and densely foliated conifers, when removing inner twigs that shade the ramification, and in the clean-up work after pinching. We recommend drying and oiling the blades after use, especially when working on resinous species.
